To create the list, LinkedIn combined data from millions of member profiles, job openings and salaries. LinkedIn grouped unique job titles and job listings posted on the site to rank each job based on salary, career advancement, number of job openings in the U.S., year-over-year growth and regional availability. The results represent jobs that had the highest combined score across these five areas.

The top ranked job on the list, engagement lead, had a median base annual salary of $93,000. Medical director, which was ranked last on the list, had the highest median base annual salary at $250,000.

Salary accounted for 30 percent of the job’s score. LinkedIn determined this component based on the median base annual salary for all job roles that have at least 40 entries collected in LinkedIn Salary in the U.S.

Here’s how the healthcare jobs ranked on the 20 most promising jobs list, including median base annual salary.

No. 18 — Pharmacist: $124,000

No. 19 — Hospitalist: $232,000

No. 20 — Medical director: $250,000
