Here are three health systems raising their minimum wage:
Pittsburgh-based UPMC has made plans to raise minimum wage to $18 per hour, more than double the minimum wage in Pennsylvania. The shift will apply to entry-level positions. With the raise, those taking full advantage of UPMC’s benefits will make the equivalent of $27 per hour.
Baltimore-based LifeBridge Health is raising the minimum wage for many of its employees to $16 an hour. The move, which became effective in October, will eventually cover about 2,500 positions across the hospital system.
Winston, Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health will raise its minimum wage from $15 per hour to $17 per hour, effective March 3. The wage increase will apply to more than 4,400 health system employees systemwide.
