The research firm said business and regulatory changes, as well as the emphasis on performance-based metrics will cause an increase in the formation of ACOs.
“Reforms to the healthcare financial model tie compensation to care outcomes, and ACOs, built on the coordinated care model, align will with this new emphasis,” said Harry Wang, director of health and mobile product research at Parks Associates, in a news release.
The significant increase in the formation of ACOs will generate a great deal of revenues, as Parks Associates expects ACOs to generate nearly $1 billion in care management revenues this year, according to the release.
