Power outage forces Florida hospital to reschedule surgeries

A power outage at Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Medical Center South forced the hospital to reschedule elective surgeries and procedures, CBS and ABC affiliate WJAX reported July 12.

The hospital posted a tweet around 10:40 a.m. saying it was using backup generators. The emergency room remained open while crews worked on the electrical issue. 

Power was restored around 4:30 p.m. the same day. It is not yet known what caused the outage.
