The hospital is in need of more space after West Reading, Pa.-based Tower Health closed its Brandywine and Jennersville hospitals. Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville, Pa., closed Jan. 31, and Jennersville Hospital in West Grove, Pa., closed Dec. 31, 2021.
Recently, wait times have been as high as nine hours at Chester County Hospital, according to the report.
The modular emergency room would provide 12 additional beds. Both staffing and space have been a challenge for Chester County Hospital, Fox 29 reported.
