The surgery center is housed on the second floor of the 18,000 square-foot addition and includes four state-of-the-art operating rooms and a new recovery area. The new ICU is also housed on the second floor and includes improved patient/family privacy and comfort, according to the report.
The first floor of the addition includes a sterile processing and supply for the ORs, a new information technology center, a medical staff suite and a health information management department.
The addition is the first phase of OHC’s $18 million expansion and renovation project, which began in 2008. The second phase will involve renovation of the ambulatory surgery, patient registration and emergency department, with completion expected in 2010, according to the report.
