The Texas Hospital for Advanced Medicine opened in May in the former RHD Memorial Hospital Facility. The 155-bed facility is owned by the Metrocrest Hospital Authority and is managed by IntraMed Health, according to the report.

The Reconstructive Surgery Institute is one of a series of Centers of Excellence planned for the facility, and the institute will be led by Kenneth Salyer, MD.

On hand to help announce the institute were formerly conjoined twins, Ahmed and Mohamed Ibrahim, who were separated by Dr. Salyer in a “groundbreaking” surgery performed at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.
