On June 3, Charleston, S.C.-based MUSC Health launched virtual-first primary and behavioral health services through Ovatient, a company it co-founded in 2022 with Cleveland-based MetroHealth.

On-demand urgent care is also available through the platform. Ovatient expects more than 50,000 MUSC Health patients to use the services within the first year, according to a news release.

The services are integrated with MUSC Health’s Epic EHR and available through its MyChart patient portal.

The company said that although its services “are virtual-first, they are not virtual only. Patients can go from virtual to in-person care seamlessly tailored and coordinated to their lives and existing care team.”
