Desert Regional Medical Center in California Expands Stroke Services

Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, Calif., announced the expansion of its Advanced Primary Stroke Center services.

The hospital added a new fellowship program and new technology to treat clots and hemorrhages that lead to stroke.

The fellowship program is in interventional neurology and is a collaboration between the hospital and the Arrowhead Neuroscience Foundation in Colton, Calif. The program will train three physicians in neurocritical care and neurointerventional procedures.

The new technology includes a biplane angiographic X-ray system for the endovascular treatment of stroke.
