Bozeman (Mont.) Health and Billings Clinic are deepening their partnership with plans to expand services at Billings Clinic Bozeman, a campus that opened in 2023.

The collaboration builds on an existing arrangement under which Bozeman Health leases clinical space within the 58-acre facility that currently houses multispecialty clinics and an ambulatory surgery center.

Under the new agreement, the two health systems will share ownership of undeveloped land on the campus and jointly plan for expanded outpatient services and surgical capacity. Joint planning is expected to begin immediately, with new services set to roll out over the next year.

“The relationship between Bozeman Health and Billings Clinic continues to grow with our shared goal of delivering excellent care close to home as independent, Montana-based health systems,” Bozeman Health CEO Kathryn Bertany, MD, said in an Oct. 16 news release. “This expanded collaboration with a trusted partner ensures Bozeman Health is responsibly positioned to meet the needs of our rapidly growing community in southwest Montana.”

The partnership aims to provide a cost-effective strategy for improving access in the Gallatin Valley, one of Montana’s fastest-growing regions. Both health systems will continue to operate independently.

“Partnering with Bozeman Health enhances opportunities for our Bozeman-based specialists and clinicians to work together, share resources and build strong peer relationships,” Billings Clinic CEO Clint Seger, MD, said. “Our shared goals are to expand care locally so patients and families can get the care they need close to home — avoiding the need to travel out of state whenever possible.”
