The report — from Availity, a revenue cycle management and business solutions provider — examined providers’ participation in accountable care organizations, patient-centered medical homes, pay-for-performance, payment-for-coordination and bundled payment plans.

The report also made the following findings:

  • Thirty percent of healthcare providers believe value-based payment models offer enough reward for the risk.

  • Fifty percent of healthcare providers believe value-based payment models will positively affect patient health outcomes and costs.

  • Sixty percent of providers believe value-based payments will become the dominant model in the future.

  • Twenty percent of providers’ revenue comes from value-based payment models.

The results were based on survey responses from 540 healthcare providers.
