California hospital launches heart and vascular center

A Cedars-Sinai affiliate hospital in California has opened a heart and vascular center.

The Helen and Will Webster Heart and Vascular Center at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, Calif., will allow the hospital to boost its cardiac patient capacity by 30 percent, and expedite time to treatment, according to an Aug. 23 news release.

The facility will provide diagnostic and screening services, advanced medical and surgical treatments, as well as rehabilitation and education programs. It will feature two catheterization suites, six diagnostic suites, and an electrophysiology suite, among other additions.

"The Helen and Will Webster Heart & Vascular Center provides the potential to revolutionize the way we treat patients by integrating traditional cardiac surgery with endovascular surgery techniques and technology, further bridging the best of today with the latest advances of the future," said Lori Morgan, MD, president and CEO of the 619-bed nonprofit hospital.
