Last week the system filed plans with the New York State Department of Health to decertify about 80 beds at its Irving-based Lake Shore Health Care Center as the facility transitions from acute care to specialty and inpatient services.
The changes at Lake Shore include opening a 20-bed inpatient chemical dependency unit and upgrading its surgical area and main entrance. A musculoskeletal service line will be added. The space housing the 80 decertified beds will be converted into a 20-bed behavioral intervention unit.
Renovations are set to begin spring 2018, according to the report.
