Since the hospitals were operating similar labs and their employees were completing the same tasks, the facilities decided to operate just one lab. Five employees were affected by the consolidation, with officials encouraging them to seek other positions in the hospitals.

The consolidation has begun and is expected to last two to three weeks, according to the report.
