Siteman Cancer Center at Christian Hospital will offer clinical trials and other cancer care. In addition to this satellite location, Siteman Cancer Center also plans to open a satellite location at Northwest HealthCare in Florissant, Mo. Officials hope to begin construction on that facility early next year if all necessary approvals are in place.
“Christian Hospital has a long, proud history as a committed community member and partner,” Christian Hospital President Rick Stevens said. “By combining efforts with Siteman, we look forward to continue serving the people of north St. Louis and southern Illinois, including those who are medically underserved, and to offering patients even more treatment options.”
St. Louis-based BJC HealthCare, which owns and operates Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Christian Hospital, and Washington University School of Medicine, also in St. Louis, provided funding for Siteman Cancer Center at Christian Hospital and the additional satellite location.
Medical oncologist Timothy Rearden, MD, will serve as medical director of Siteman Cancer Center at Christian Hospital.
