Here are four things to know about the project.
1. The patient tower provides 260,000 square feet of additional space. It includes 35 private rooms for intensive care patients and 70 private rooms for medical and surgical patients, with capacity for more growth in the future, according to the report.
2. In addition to the patient tower, the expansion project also included a parking garage and medical office building, as well as earthquake safety upgrades at an existing building.
3. With the patient tower, RCH to will be able to relocate some services out of its main building, allowing room for more operating rooms, reports The Press-Enterprise.
4. The estimated total cost of the project is $420 million.
