Memphis-based Regional One Health has revealed the first renderings of its plan for a $900 million hospital campus in Memphis.
While the current project cost is $900 million, that figure could change as the system moves through the design process, a spokesperson for Regional One Health confirmed with Becker’s.
The health system received certificate of need approval from the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission in early March to build the facility. It will be around a half mile from its current Regional Medical Center, which is Tennessee’s oldest hospital.
At more than 600,000 square feet, the hospital campus will comprise expanded trauma and burn centers, an emergency department and observation unit, a women’s and infants center, a rehabilitation hospital, and a laboratory, pharmacy and support services, according to an Aug. 5 news release shared with Becker’s.
The hospital will have more than 315 beds, with clinical space to help support research and innovation, workforce development, education and patient care. The project will support almost 10,000 jobs, contribute an estimated $4.8 billion in the regional economy and generate more than $117 million in additional tax revenue.
Pending final approvals, Regional One Health is expected to break ground on the campus in summer 2027, with completion expected in 2030.
