Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health is one step closer to completing its new medical center in Mint Hill, N.C., according to The Charlotte Observer.

Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred Healthcare notified the Texas Workforce Commission of plans to close Houston-based Kindred Hospital Town and Country and eliminate all 133 staff positions beginning June 27, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Wilkes-Barre, Pa.-based Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center offered to donate 55 acres of land near the facility to the Wilkes-Barre Area School District for the construction of a new high school, according to WNEP-16 News.

Hollywood, Fla.-based Memorial Regional Hospital South will officially open its Medically Complex Rehabilitation Unit May 2.

About 100 new jobs will be added to Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health's Clemmons Medical Center when construction on the facility is completed this summer, according to the Triad Business Journal.

A 46-year-old man was in critical condition Monday after he was shot several times by hospital security Saturday in the parking lot of Franciscan Health in Michigan City, Ind., according to the South Bend Tribune.
