The $180 million expansion will include the addition of new facilities and services on three campuses. Construction on the first phase of the expansion is expected to begin in the fall of 2018.

The plan calls for an expansion on the health system’s campus in Lewes that will create all private patient rooms for the complex medical and surgical inpatients. It will also create a new labor and delivery wing to serve the community’s growing population of young families.

A portion of the $180 million investment is expected to come from charitable contributions in a fundraising campaign by the Beebe Medical Foundation.
