The 114,000-square-foot Uniondale, N.Y.-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Nassau was originally scheduled to open in September, but it was finished ahead of schedule. Construction began in January 2017.
The project was estimated to cost $140 million, but the price increased as the center expanded its care offerings. The facility has 38 exam rooms, 26 private infusion spaces, a rapid-response laboratory and a five-story parking garage with 450 spaces.
“To have all these cancer services in one place, without space limitations, is something we are very grateful for,” said Pamela Drullinsky, MD, a medical oncologist and the medical site director for the center.
The center predicts it will have 20,500 clinical visits this year.
