It was the largest expansion in the hospital’s history, growing the main campus by 61,028 square feet, according to a Sept. 18 news release from the hospital.
The three-story building addition includes new operating suites and an intensive care unit. It also features an inpatient medical-surgical unit with private rooms that can be converted to negative pressure to heighten the ability to treat airborne illnesses, according to the release.
Slidell Memorial Hospital includes two acute care hospital campuses, with 223 beds at the main campus and 36 beds at the east campus. It maintains a strategic partnership with New Orleans-based Ochsner Health.
