Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System will invest $270 million over the next three to five years to expand and remodel its two hospitals in Green Bay, Wis.: HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center and HSHS St. Vincent Hospital.

“This is much more than an investment in our brick and mortar,” HSHS Wisconsin Market President and CEO Bob Erickson said in a news release. “With projected population growth, an aging population and a growing number of patients traveling to Green Bay from afar to seek healthcare, we see a significant need to open more access to patients who want to receive care from us.”

Design plans for the expansion and transformation of HSHS St. Mary’s includes a new tower that would allow for more intermediate and intensive care beds, as well as additional operating and procedural rooms. Construction at the hospital is expected to begin in summer 2025 and wrap up in 2028.

Remodeling plans for HSHS St. Vincent will be announced at a later date. The hospital comprises a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, a women and infants center, and children’s hospital.

“In a time when the healthcare landscape is changing quicker than we can blink, HSHS stands strong and stable,” Mr. Erickson said. “We are here for the long haul, and very excited to be investing in the Green Bay community and furthering our commitment to care for you all for many more years to come.”
