Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare has shared plans to open its HCA Florida Auburndale Emergency facility Jan. 19 as the system pushes to grow its freestanding ED footprint in Florida.

HCA Florida Auburndale Emergency, which will be part of HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital, will comprise 24/7 care, including pediatric treatment rooms, a cardiopulmonary resuscitation room, advanced patient monitoring equipment and on-site laboratory and imaging, according to its website

An HCA spokesperson told Becker’s in early January that the system currently comprises 71 freestanding ERs in Florida, with 10 more planned to open in the first quarter of 2026.

Most recently, the system opened its HCA Florida Merrill Road Emergency on Jan. 7. The $8.3 million freestanding ER comprises 11 rooms, a trauma bay and emergency care services. HCA also opened two other Northern Florida freestanding ERs in 2025.
