The project will add 137,000-square-feet of new construction and 50,000 square-feet of renovated space, including a four-story medical office building, renovated entrance, expansion of the intensive care and progressive care units and additional space for six surgery suites.
“It has been an exciting project. I’m tickled to be a part of it. I’m excited the Board of Directors saw the vision to think about the importance of this project and we’re now ready to get it done,” Todd Ahrens, Hannibal Regional Hospital’s president and CEO, told the Hannibal Courier-Post.
Patients will experience some disruption during the construction; however, the hospital is taking steps to minimize these inconveniences.
The project is expected to be completed in 2020.
