The new 100-bed teaching hospital, named UCF Lake Nona Medical Center, will be built adjacent to UCF’s College of Medicine campus in Lake Nona, Fla. The new hospital will be used to train medical students, advance clinical research and expand opportunities for medical residency programs.

Final approval for the project comes after the Florida Board of Governors, which oversees the state’s public universities, approved the public/private hospital in March.  UCF can increase the hospital up to 500 beds without further approval, according to the report.
