The donation will support Dr. Slavin’s vision to continue to enhance Cedars-Sinai’s mission of quality care, education, research and community service, according to a Dec. 30 news release from the health system.

Dr. Slavin was appointed president and CEO in October. In the past year, Cedars-Sinai has launched the Cedars-Sinai Health Sciences University, developed plans to add 56 inpatient beds and surpassed a $1 billion fundraising milestone, the release said.

The $10 million gift was made by philanthropists David and Meredith Kaplan, who previously established the David and Meredith Kaplan Distinguished Chair in Children’s Health in 2020 with a $5 million donation.
