The planned 60,000-square-foot facility, called Lockport Memorial, is slated to open in spring 2023, according to the report.
It will house emergency, inpatient, imaging and laboratory services, as well as primary care, women’s health and other specialties.
The new hospital will preserve hospital care in the city of Lockport. The other hospital in Lockport, Eastern Niagara Hospital, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November 2019 and signed a management agreement with Catholic Health. Under the deal Catholic Health agreed to take over operations of Eastern Niagara until the new hospital is built.
