Blessing Hospital reduces public entrances to enhance security

In an effort to beef up building security, Quincy, Ill.-based Blessing Hospital will reduce the number of entrances accessible to the public starting July 17.

The public can access the entrances on 11th and Spring, the Human Resources and DaVita Dialysis entrances from 10th Street, the north entrance at Moorman Pavilion, the emergency center and the walk-in clinic. All other entrances will be accessible by employee badges only.

The security enhancement is not expected to burden patients or visitors because most people use the entrances still available.

After 8:30 p.m., the emergency center entrance will continue to serve as the only entrance until the following morning.
