Patti Jurkus, CEO of Bedford Memorial, said the project will increase the hospital’s ED bed count from 10 to 14 to meet the growing demand for emergency care and enhance safety at the facility, according to the report. Bedford Memorial’s plan with Centra will also temporarily relocate the ED to the hospital’s second floor.
Renovations are slated to begin June 1 and are scheduled to reach completion by March 2018.
