Nashville, Tenn.-based Ascension Saint Thomas, part of St. Louis-based Ascension, will break ground June 16 on Ascension Saint Thomas Clarksville Hospital, a new full-service hospital in Clarksville, Tenn.
The $148.5 million project will anchor a 96-acre integrated healthcare campus designed to expand access to care in Montgomery County and the surrounding region, according to a May 5 health system news release. The campus will include physician partners Tennessee Oncology, Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance, Ascension Saint Thomas Heart and Howell Allen Clinic, along with a Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services station.
Ascension Saint Thomas recently received state approval to build the hospital, which will open with 44 inpatient beds and capacity to expand to 132. Planned services include emergency care, inpatient surgery, cardiology, women’s health, neonatal intensive care and advanced imaging.
The campus also is expected to include an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, outpatient surgery and specialty ambulatory care services. Leaders estimate the project will create approximately 250 healthcare jobs.
Ascension Saint Thomas announced plans for the Clarksville campus in May 2025 as part of a broader investment strategy across Middle Tennessee. The health system said construction is expected to begin following the groundbreaking ceremony.
