Amazon’s Prime service ships 5B+ items in 2017

Amazon shipped more than 5 billion items to Prime customers worldwide in 2017, the e-commerce giant said Tuesday.

Amazon noted its Prime members used their digital benefits more this year than ever before. Prime members get access to digital video, music and reading services.

This is the first time Amazon released its Prime shipment numbers, according to Reuters. The online retailer did not provide full-year Prime shipment numbers for 2016.
