Meritain, Banner to roll out accountable care in Phoenix

Phoenix-based Banner Health Network and Meritain Health, an Aetna subsidiary, are collaborating to offer patients in the Phoenix area highly coordinated care through an accountable care organization.

Through the collaboration, Meritain Health beneficiaries have the option to use the Aetna Whole Health product, which offers lower out-of-pocket costs, care focused on prevention, assistance in managing chronic conditions and access to services from Banner Health, which is the largest provider in Arizona.

"We have found that Meritain Health is particularly well-aligned with our triple aim goals of better patient care and experience at an affordable price," Lisa Stevens Anderson, CEO of Banner Health Network, said in a statement. "When payers and providers work collaboratively, new innovative solutions develop for our plan sponsors and their membership."
