Eastside Health Alliance, Cigna launch ACO

Eastside Health Alliance, a joint venture created by Kirkland, Wash.-based EvergreenHealth and Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue, Wash., rolled out an accountable care organization with Cigna, according to Kirkland Reporter.

The ACO, known as Cigna Collaborative Care, launched July 1. Under the program, 6,000-plus Cigna policyholders gained expanded access to Eastside Health Alliance's 1,100-plus providers.

The ACO aims to improve health and patient experience while lowering expenses. Cigna has 189 ACO arrangements with large physician groups spanning more than 100,000 physicians, the report states.
