Here are six things to know about Dr. Lado.
1. Dr. Lado’s clinical work focuses on caring for epilepsy patients who have responded poorly to medication.
2. He previously served as an attending neurologist at Montefiore Medical Center for 17 years and professor of clinical neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. At Montefiore, Dr. Lado held several positions, including clinical neurophysiology fellowship training program director, EEG laboratory director and chief of service for neurology.
3. Dr. Lado completed a medicine internship at Bellevue Hospital in New York City and a neurology residency at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, both in New York City. He also completed fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology at Montefiore Medical Center-Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City.
4. He holds a master’s degree in physics from UC Berkeley and a PhD in physiology from New York University School of Medicine’s Sackler Institute in New York City. He earned his medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine.
5. Dr. Lado has served as chairman of the Epilepsy Specialist Symposium at the American Epilepsy Society and American Academy of Neurology annual meetings. He also has earned several awards, including three certificates of appreciation from the American Epilepsy Society.
6. He also serves on the board of the National Association of Epilepsy Centers, and as vice-chair of the physician advisory board of the Epilepsy Foundation of Metropolitan New York.
