The book, which was published in March 2016 by Elsevier’s Academic Press imprint, was edited by Brian E. Dixon, PhD, an associate professor at Indiana University Fairbanks School of Public Health in Indianapolis. The book includes chapters by healthcare experts and practitioners, spanning topics such as challenges associated with electronic data exchange and the need for nationwide interoperability.
The HIMSS Book of the Year Award recognizes books that offer outstanding practical guidance and strategic insight for healthcare information and management systems professionals. This year’s award will be presented to Dr. Dixon at the HIMSS Awards Gala in Orlando, Fla., on Feb. 21.
