ONC names winners of 2 consumer, provider app challenges

ONC has revealed the winners of both its Consumer Health Data Aggregator Challenge and its Provider User Experience Challenge.

The Consumer Health Data Aggregator Challenge focused on the development of apps to help consumers securely access and integrate health data from different providers. The winner, PatientLink Enterprises, won $50,000 for its cloud-based app MyLinks that gathers, manages and shares patient data.

The Provider User Experience Challenge asked participants to demonstrate how making data accessible to apps through application program interfaces can streamline providers’ use of EHR systems. The winner, Herald Health, also won $50,000 for its product that helps clinicians manage alerts and other information by creating customized push notifications.
