Commissioner Kreidler will decide whether Columbia United Providers, a subsidiary of Southwest that is a licensed health insurer serving Medicaid patients, can be acquired by PeaceHealth.
A public hearing is scheduled for Monday, and officials reviewing the proposal expect the commissioner to approve the deal.
If approved, the merger of PeaceHealth and Southwest will be complete by early 2011.
