Patrick Doyle, Vice President, Newport Credentialing Solutions: Provider enrollment issues continue to plague hospitals as back office staff struggle to stay on top of provider enrollment and maintenance. Rather than hiring additional staff to manage the process, many believe it is cheaper and easier to simply write off claim denials caused by provider enrollment issues. As a result, revenue is negatively impacted. While credentialing and provider enrollment software have come a long way and can help ease the burden on staff, the technology still requires oversight.
