The hospital, which will replace a 59-year-old outdated facility, is scheduled to open in 2013.

The bill, S. 1963, expands upon $568.4 million that Congress had previously authorized for the hospital to cover the total estimated cost of $800 million. Of that amount, $42 million still remains to be included in future budgets, according to the report.
