Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus Drugs to partner with TrumpRx

Mark Cuban elaborated on how his online pharmacy, Cost Plus Drugs, will partner with TrumpRx during a CNBC interview at HLTH 2025 in Las Vegas.

The Trump administration shared plans for TrumpRx in September. The federal website is set to launch in 2026 and will connect consumers with prescription drugs at discounted prices. The president has already forged agreements with Pfizer, AstraZeneca and EMD Serono to introduce “most-favored-nation” drug pricing on the site. Under this model, drugs would be available in the U.S. at similar costs as other wealthy nations.

Mr. Cuban said TrumpRx will act as a “referral site” for his pharmacy, and he explained how Cost Plus Drugs passes savings on as volumes go up and prices go down. “We’re feeding [TrumpRx] daily updates. … We’re really excited about it.”

Mr. Cuban emphasized aligning thoughts on most-favored-nation pricing, which President  Trump advocated for over the summer.

“The biggest difference between how drugs are bought and sold [in the U.S.] versus every other Western nation is we have [pharmacy benefit managers]. They don’t,” he said.

Cost Plus Drugs committed to posting its Cost Plus Wellness Direct contracts online in a push for greater transparency, something Mr. Cuban has criticized PBMs over.

Mr. Cuban was also outspoken about drug pricing in his communications with the Biden administration. Now, Cost Plus Drugs is deeply involved in Trump-era White House initiatives, including Equip-A-Pharma for AI-powered, real-time quality monitoring.

“Credit where credit is due,” Mr. Cuban said. “They are trying their best to reduce the cost of prescriptions and of healthcare and of insurance.”
