Moffitt Cancer Center and Advocate Health have been named founding anchor members of CancerX’s new consortium leadership model, marking a shift in how the national public-private partnership will drive digital innovation in cancer care.
Here are five things to know:
- The two organizations will help guide CancerX’s strategy and programming alongside three additional anchor members to be named later, according to an Oct. 20 news release.
- The change aims to expand collaboration among health systems, life sciences companies, startups, investors and technology firms working to advance oncology innovation.
- Moffitt Cancer Center, based in Tampa, Fla., has hosted CancerX since its inception two years ago.
- Advocate Health, headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., and one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health systems, has been involved with CancerX since its launch as a founding member and steering partner.
- The organization’s flagship program, the CancerX Accelerator, is accepting applications for its 2026 cohort through Oct. 28. Newly added champion organizations include Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center, Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System and AstraZeneca.
