Midland, Mich.-based MyMichigan Health has extended its Epic EHR to a fifth healthcare organization in the state.
The health system will now share the EHR with Mount Pleasant, Mich.-based Nimkee Memorial Wellness Center, a medical clinic that serves the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, through Epic’s Community Connect Program.
“One of the great benefits of having Epic is the continuity of the medical record between providers at Nimkee Memorial Wellness Center and MyMichigan specialists, improving communication between providers for improved care,” said Lydia Watson, MD, president and CEO of MyMichigan Health, in an Aug. 4 news release. “I look forward to collaborating and leveraging our combined expertise on quality, performance improvement, operations and strategy to fulfill our purpose of creating healthy communities together.”
Nimkee Memorial joins other Michigan-based healthcare organizations in MyMichigan Health’s Community Connect Program, including Helen Newberry (Mich.) Joy Hospital & Healthcare Center, St. Ignace-based Mackinac Straits Health System, Sandusky-based McKenzie Health System, and Houghton Lake-based MidMichigan Community Health Services.
