Cantel Medical acquires Belgium-based health IT company for $24.8M

Cantel Medical Corp., an infection prevention and control products and services company, bought health IT firm Aexis Medical for $24.8 million.

Aexis Medical is a Belgium-based company that provides IT solutions for the instrument reprocessing workflows and data reporting management. It comprises 60 employees and reported revenues of $4.2 million for the calendar year ending Dec. 31, 2017.

The total $24.8 million deal amount consisted of a $21.1 million up-front consideration and $3.7 million in an earnout structure to be paid two years after the closing.

“The integration of Aexis Medical’s robust IT solutions will enable us to transform how we innovate and approach customers holistically to address their unmet infection prevention needs using healthcare data analytics,” said Jorgen Hansen, president and CEO of Cantel Medical.
