Women More Likely Than Men to Use Internet for Health Information

Among adults aged between 18 and 64, women were more likely than men to have used the Internet for health information, according to a 2009 National Health Interview Survey.

The survey, conducted through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Center for Health Statistics, also found that adults with higher incomes are more likely to have used the Internet for health information than adults with lower incomes.

According to the report, the greatest use of Internet for health information among adults was associated with people aged 25 to 44, college-educated, employed, privately insured, non-Hispanic white and earning an income at or above 300 percent of the federal poverty line.
