Kindred to cut 86 jobs with closure of Indiana hospital

Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred Healthcare will eliminate 86 positions with the closure of Kindred Hospital Indianapolis South, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal.

These job cuts, which will be permanent, will begin Nov. 7 and hospital employees will be notified within 14 days if they are terminated. Among the positions being eliminated are 21 registered nurses and 20 respiratory therapists.

The job cuts come as Kindred Hospital Indianapolis South enters into a joint venture with Indianapolis-based Community Health Network and changes its name to Community Rehabilitation Hospital South.
