The report analyzes threat and vulnerability data on Microsoft’s services from January through March for over 100 countries and regions.
Here are four report insights.
1. Attempted account sign-ins from malicious IP addresses during the first quarter increased 44 percent compared to the same period one year prior.
2. Over two-thirds of incoming attacks on Azure services came from IP addresses in the U.S. (32.5 percent) and China (35.1 percent).
3. Ransomware encounter rates were highest in:
- Czech Republic (0.17 percent)
- Korea (0.15 percent)
- Italy (0.14 percent)
4. Ransomware encounter rates were lowest in:
- Japan (0.012 percent)
- China (0.014)
- U.S. (0.02)
