Companies often purchase bitcoin to pay ransoms, cybersecurity expert says

As ransomware attacks become more common, companies have frequently decided to turn to purchasing bitcoin as a way to quietly pay their attackers, a cybersecurity expert told CNBC's "Mad Money."

"That's the requirement of most of these hackers," he said.
