Penn Medicine Center for Health Care Innovation (Philadelphia). The Penn Medicine Center for Health Care Innovation’s mission revolves around five key areas: making people healthier; bringing care into people’s lives; reducing healthcare costs; enabling and accelerating innovation; and encouraging and catalyzing others. In 2013, the center unveiled its Penn Social Media and Health Innovation Lab, which advances multidisciplinary research where social media, mobile technology and health converge. Launched in 2016, the Penn Medicine Nudge Unit represents the first-ever program within a health system to use behavioral sciences to test interventions that can lead to enhanced delivery and outcomes.
