Since then, EnviroMason has been a pioneer in eco-friendly business practices in healthcare and has helped Virginia Mason Hospital divert more than 2,500 tons of waste from landfills, as well as save nearly 8 million kilowatt hours and more than 6 million gallons of water each year. Virginia Mason Hospital & Seattle Medical Center’s sustainability efforts earned the organization a Practice Greenhealth Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award in 2015 and five Circle of Excellence awards in waste prevention, greening the OR, sustainable food services, energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emission tracking.
