Geisinger Health System (Danville, Pa.). Geisinger Health System has 12 hospital campuses and two research centers throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Geisinger employs about 30,000 people, including 1,600 employed physicians. The newest addition to the system, as of 2017, is the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, an educational institution headquartered across four Pennsylvania campuses. The system also established the Geisinger Nursing Institute this year, which oversees the practice and education of the system’s nurses.
